Hey fella's,

I to have a friend who is a New York city cop in Jamaica Heights in Queens, and he has told me that he draws his weapon, with good intentions and a reason to do so, about 2 - 3 times a week. It really depends on where you are located. He is in a neighborhood where there is a large Hispanic and Transvestite community. This brings up a lot of street violence at night around the bars and clubs and this is where he is when things go down. Plus from what I understand, detectives have just cause to draw their weapons far more often then an average beat cop like my friend.

The school shooting thing, I agree, it has to do with unchecked bullies and bad parenting. I to was friends with and have been Trench Coat Mafia type of a person/people. I drew horrific drawings of fekkow students in grim death scenes and wrote stories, like Knightmare at my school, and Camp my school (Fri 13th) where all my classmates were killed. I once brought a samurai sword to school and talked about it with teachers. The world has changed and children grow up faster than they used to, but the mind still matures at the same speed, which is causing these conflicting emotions that lead to these awful things happening more frequently.
This brings me back to your challenge of watching Kid Nation ( which I am still watching ) I know damn well that I was not as smart and knowledgable as the Kids on this show when I was there age (8-15) maybe in the 13- 14 year range, but not when I was 8-12, Thoughts of huge world events and politics was not even a care to me, and these Kids know who they would vote for already. It's wierd to me.

The strike is driving me nuts... I need my Daily Show and Colbert report fix every day and repeats are ok, but new is always better.

Zero tolerence is a mistake. It can not work because there will always be extenuating circumstances that can be forseen. No Hugging. Means no human contact, and unfourtunately this is why children go to school, to learn social behaviors and make friends, which you can't do if you don't have physical contact. You are an android that can't figure out what your emotions are. How would it effect you if you and someone who you liked and they you, thought constantly I want to touch that person, but TPTB say its wrong... what do you do.

There is only a conspiracy if you are a religious person. Maybe if I was a parent and didn't want to teach my kids about religion, this is a movie I could take my kids to without having to explain what all the undertones are.
Hearing the spoiler though, gives me a different understanding of the movie, and I don't think that is right either. Being free of god is one thing, but killing someone elses idea of god is just plain wrong. It is a hoorible thing to do to someone who has true faith unlike me.
If you guys want another movie challenge, I think you should take a look at "The man from Earth" which is a wierd one room movie kind of thing... no action, just alot of dialogue and intriuging ideas of what could have actually been. One of the best lines in the movie is... "I can some up the ten commandments in ten words. Don't, don't, don't, don't,don't,don't,don't,don't,don't,don't!"
Check it out... if you dare... lol

I just want to add that Steve mentioned that the underlying ideas of Christianity is love one another and be peacful or something to that effect.

C-ya round.
